Conservation scientists and ecologists are working with increasingly large data sets in the hope of tackling some of the most pressing issues in biodiversity monitoring and protection. Big data requires new and innovative solutions for analysis, visualisation and synthesis. It requires collaboration between scientists with large ecological datasets and professionals with the technical expertise to put those datasets to work. The conservation hackathon project aims to bring scientists and programmers together to generate exciting new solutions to emerging challenges in ecological and conservation research. Find out about upcoming events, or check our repository for code and projects generated by our previous hackathons.
